Chasing the Glory

Matty & Patty in Cardiff – Match Review

Australia 33 defeated Wales 12.

Cold and windy Wales, but a match inside a fully enclosed Millenium Stadium. Two teams known for their running rugby – one team an undisputed favourite, their opponentsĀ determined to redeem themselves and send out a message to the critics. The stage was set. An eighty minute storybook performance followed, and finally, what everyone was waiting for – a clinically brilliant performance by the Wallabies. A fitting climax for the Wallabies (and Chasing the Glory) to end their respective tours. Check out Matty & Patty’s review on the match and Leave a Note with your thoughts.

Stay tuned to Chasing the Glory this week for a final video of the boys Outtakes from Cardiff and a farewell message to end Chasing the Glory for 2009!

When Gits hoiked the ball out from Kick-off – I thought he’s just lost us the match. Was great to see him put that kick over the bar and to wipe the slate. To then grubber Digby through for the first meaty was just superb.

    To your points:

    1. Consistency. Agree. So many matches I’ve watched us lose ball (mistakes and turnovers) at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and heartbreakingly 125th phase) To have a virtually error free match was very appreciated.

    2. Whole team effort. Also agree. Seemed like we had a wee bit more structure and strategy this time round and kicked it away less (still not happy with some kicking decisions but)

    3. Fwd Pack. Enough said.

    4. Gits. He did have a cracker – but he’s got to stop running himself into the ground. Those little legs seem to generate so much heat that he starts sinking into the turf…

Also thought Genia was another CTG contender. While he marked brilliantly, this cannot be sustainable.

Now get back to playing with eachother.

If Pocock hadn’t been injured i think he would have been man of the match, he seemed to be involved in everything. Great game and great result.

P.S. Have Sunrise offered you guys a contract yet? I think you could have some great banter with Koshi! ;-)

Brilliant performance from the boys in gold… it was great to watch at 4 in the morning. dam good reason to wake up!! That’s the performance we know the wallabies are capable of. now they need to be able to replicate it consistently. great effort from the boys and i think a great tour. they certainly learned a lot. just a completely dominant display of how rugby should be played!! stoked!!
